Set up Fitbit Versa
This might seem easy, but setting up your Fitbit Versa or Versa Lite depends on whether you're trying to connect it to an iOS or Android device, or even a computer. Things can also get a little tricky when trying to add the Versa as a second device (tip: Fitbit doesn't allow multiple trackers unless it's an Aria scale) or doing so without Wi-Fi.
Durable verdict:Fitbit Versa Lite Edition im Test
You should be automatically prompted to set up your Versa once you've downloaded the app and followed the steps, but check out our guidehow to set up your Fitbitfor more details.
Reset the Fitbit Versa
It's all well and good being set up with your Fitbit, but sometimes you need to brush things up when it's unresponsive - or you want to give it to someone else, for example. This varies by Fitbit device, but Versa users simply have to hold down the left and bottom buttons until the Fitbit logo appears on the screen. This should take about 10 seconds.
On the Versa Lite you need to hold the button down for 10 seconds and then the reset process will begin.
If that doesn't work or you need more details, continue reading our guidehow to reset a fitbit.
Calibrate the Fitbit Versa
When you collect and sync your Fitbit Versa data to your phone, you want to make sure you're getting the most accurate step counts, heart data, and calorie counts. However, this depends heavily on your settings.
To change your sleep sensitivity and stride length (to improve sleep tracking and step count accuracy, go to Account > Settings > Advanced Settings. To set your heart rate zones, go to Account > Settings > Heart Rate Zones. You can even tell Fitbit which one Wrist Your wrist is Versa on (Device > Wrist) is key to taking the most accurate readings when you're on the go.
If you are a swimmer, calibration becomes even more important. You need tocalibrate your pelvic lengthto ensure you receive the most accurate swim data possible. Luckily, that's not too difficult. All you have to do is open the exercise app, then go to the swim screen and tap the gear. Then choose pool length. Of course, this is not possible with the Versa Lite Edition.
Sync the Fitbit Versa
Syncing your Versa means any data you've captured from your wrist is transferred to your connected phone or computer. Depending on your connected device, the synchronization process will vary, which is also influenced by your settings in the app. You can set your Versa to sync in the background throughout the day, or do it manually by dragging it down from the app's home screen.
This should be pretty easy, but syncing issues with a Fitbit aren't uncommon - keep reading our guideSync your Fitbitfor help on what to do if your Versa isn't syncing.
Change bands on Fitbit Versa
Once you get comfortable with the Versa and how it works inside, you might want to customize how it looks on the outside - after all, you probably don't want to wear that standard rubber strap for every occasion.
However, before you start building a collection of Fitbit Versa bands, it's important to know how to change bands on a Fitbit. On the Versa, this means sliding the metal pin and unlocking/locking the band, but the difficulty of doing this varies wildly depending on whether your new band is metal, leather, or rubber. All Versa and Versa Lite bands are interoperable. Keep reading our guidehow to change bands on fitbitfor all the details.
How to turn off the Fitbit Versa
Again, this might seem like a simple tip, but it's not immediately obvious when you first get to know your Fitbit Versa. This actually varies quite a bit depending on which Fitbit you own, as some devices can't actually be turned off, but the Versa's buttons allow you to save the battery for later by turning it off completely.
To do this, go to Settings > About > Shutdown > Confirm Shutdown on the watch. To turn the watch back on at any time, press any of the three buttons for a few seconds - the Fitbit logo should appear. Of course, on the Versa Lite you can press the single button instead.
Check your battery life
This is something you're more likely to stumble upon than find out about Fitbit during setup, but looking at your battery life is essential for day-to-day use.
And it can happen in two ways. The easiest way to check your Versa's battery is to simply swipe up and look in the top left of the screen - there should be a battery gauge there. It can be a little irritating to do this on a regular basis, though, so it's also worth considering a watch face that shows battery percentage. That way you can then just tilt your wrist to see how much juice you have left.
Take a look at the quick view
When you swipe up to take a look at your battery percentage, you also open what's called a quick view. This is a look at the stats you collected that day such as steps, your night's rest, active minutes, calories, resting heart rate and some historical data including your cardio fitness score, sleep history and exercise history.
It's not quite as extensive as the data you get through the Fitbit app - which of course has an easier interface to navigate and charts to peruse - but it's the next best thing and handy if you just want it, well , a quick view.
responses to texts
Unfortunately, whether you can reply to messages from your wrist depends on which device you've paired your Fitbit with. If you're connecting to your Fitbit via your computer or an iOS device, we're afraid Versa's quick replies won't be available for text like text.
However, if you are an Android user, you can text on your Fitbit. What you can and can't reply to through your preset replies depends on the app that sent the notification, but you can get the full facts in our guideText on your Fitbit Versa.
Download an app or watch face
Your Fitbit Versa is essentially a tracking device, but this is also supported by the apps and customizable watch faces that can be downloaded through the Fitbit app.
To download a new watch face, as Fitbit calls it, just tap the device icon in the top left of the screen, tap Watch Faces, and browse/download as you please. This is a constantly updated collection with options ranging from basic to data-heavy.
A similar process exists for downloading an app, except you have to click through to Apps instead of Clock Faces. From here you can view the ones you already have on your Versa, as well as scroll down through the lists of those available.
