Overall, this smartwatch has proven to be a good deal, especially considering the value for money. Aside from the features mentioned above, this fitness-focused smartwatch offers plenty of customization features that you can tweak to your liking.
So if you recently bought the Fitbit Versa 2 or are planning to get this fitness-focused smartwatch, here are a few tips and tricks that will help you get the most out of this smartwatch.
Without further delay, let us begin.
1. Customize the home screen
One of the first things you should do on your Versa 2 is arrange the icons the way you want. After all, you don't want your favorite app on the fourth screen, do you? Time is money, they say. The mantra is simple - keep your frequently accessed apps on the first screen and so on.
The good news is that it's easy to tweak your home screen icons. Similar to smartphones, long press the icons and drag them to the screen of your choice. So if you want Spotify, Alarm, Workout and Timer on the first screen, followed by Deezer, Settings, Weather and Music, it's entirely doable.
2. Optimize the always-on screen
Thanks to the AMOLED screen, the Versa 2 also has a decent always-on display screen. It's a stripped down version of the watch face that comes into play when the watch is idle.
Right now, the watch lets you choose between two styles - analog and digital. And the good news is that you can add a few stats to this screen. For example, if you want to see some of your walking stats or battery percentage on this screen, you can. You can also specify the active hour for the clock.
Apart from that, you can also view any of the core stats like steps or floors on this always-on display screen.
To tweak the always-on display, go to Settings > Always-on display and tap Customize.
In my case, I went with an analog watch style followed by step and calorie counting.

3. Customize the left button
Another cool trick is to customize the back button to an action of your choice. Unlike its predecessors, the Versa 2 only bundles a single button instead of three.
In addition to acting as a back button, this button also acts as a trigger for Alexa. All you have to do is long press on it. However, if you do not aFan of this voice assistant, it can be easily changed. At the moment you can switch between the following shortcuts:
- Alex,
- Pay Fitbit
- exercise shortcut
- stopwatch
- music control
To change it, go to settings and scroll down until you see the left button option.
Next, select the action of your choice and that's it.
In my case, I chose Stopwatch because I often use it for HIIT exercises.
4. Calibrate the Fitbit Versa
Among all the settings and features, it is important that your Fitbit smartwatch estimates your steps, calorie count, sleep data and heart data correctly.
Answer? Calibration.
With the Fitbit Versa 2 you can define the heart rate zones. You can also set the maximum heart rate. To do this, open the Fitbit app on your smartphone, tap the small profile icon in the upper-left corner, and select Heart Rate Zones.
Additionally, if you walk or jog frequently, it's important to add a custom stride length so your smartwatch can take accurate readings.
To change this setting, go to Advanced settings (under your profile) and tap Stride length.
5. Add offline music and pair your headphones
The Versa 2 has plenty of onboard memory to storeoffline music tracks. This way you can listen to your favorite songs without your phone when you are walking or jogging.
The only problem is that you need to take the help of your PC for this and the process is not easy. This is unlike other smartwatches that allow you to download songs directly from your smartwatch.
You need to connect the watch to thesame Wi-Fi networkyour phone is connected to. Next you need to transfer the songs from your PC to the watch.
To do this, open the Music app on your watch and tap Transfer Music.
At the same time, open the app on your PC. Once the app is discovered, click the small music icon at the top and tap Music storage > Personal music > Create new playlist and add the songs you want on your watch.
When you're done, tap the small Done icon at the top to complete the transfer.
But to be honest, music on your smartwatch isn't going to help much if you don't have yourswireless headphonespaired to it. Luckily, it's just as easy to pair your audio accessories with this watch.
All you have to do is go to Settings > Bluetooth > +Audio Device to start the scan. Once you find the device of your choice, tap on it to select and pair it.
Now you can go out and listen to your favorite songs without having to carry your phone around.
6. Change watch faces
What makes smartwatches so cool is that you can change their appearance whenever you feel like it. You can either go for a cool, colorful digital display or go for a classic analogue look - whichever look suits your needs.
Versa 2 makes it easy to switch between multiple watch faces, all you need is a working internet connection and the Fitbit app on your phone.
To change the watch face, jump to your profile in the Fitbit app and tap the Versa 2 card.
Next, tap Watch Face > All Clock and tap one you like. Tap select and that's it. It only takes a few seconds for the selected watch face to sync with the clock.
My recommendation is a cool always-on display watch face. This way you get a cool AoD and a normal watch face.
7. Edit message replies
One of Fitbit Versa 2's coolest tricks is that it lets you send speech-to-text responses. Yes, you read that correctly.
And the best part is that it can translate most of the language seamlessly. However, to do this, you need to turn on the Voice Responses option under Profile > Versa 2 > Notifications.
After that, tap on the notification and select Reply and then record your message. Cool I would say.
Aside from that, you can also save a set of quick replies for email, calendar, and messages. So if you frequently reply to your emails with, "I'll take care of it," you can set it up to save you time in the long run.
To set up quick replies, go to Notifications > Quick replies > Messages, then add the text.
